Leo District Election

President Candidates:

Amelia Kratzer  (Menlo-Atherton Leo Club President)

Bio:

Hi, I’m Amelia Kratzer, the current President of the Menlo-Atherton Leo Club, and the current Vice President of the Leo District 4-C4. I have been involved with the Lions Club International since I was in 6th grade. One of my best Leo accomplishments includes helping create the district-wide Veterans Virtual Giving Tree. This year, we donated gifts to 30 Veterans for the holidays in the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP). In addition to the Giving Tree, I have helped plan programs including Virtual Game Night with the Veterans. Under my leadership, the M-A Leo Club has partnered with our local elementary school to help host a science fair for students! As Vice President of the Leo District this year, I helped plan the Summer Beach Party/Recruiting Event and the 2022 Symposium. My goal for next year is to plan more District-wide events and spend time working directly with District Leo clubs to engage members and officers. I would like to focus on the Lions Club Pillars including Hunger and the Environment. I have had the honor of helping Leo President Andy this year and I hope to continue my service with the Leo District as President next year.

Vice President Candidates:

Rinko Miyoshi  (Bay Area Leo Club Co-President)

Bio:

My name is Rinko Miyoshi and I am a Junior at Burlingame High school! In 2021, I joined the Bay Area Leo Club (which had 0 members at the time) and worked to grow the club and make it active again. I was the secretary for that year and this year I am the co-president of our club. Since I joined the club, I have run all bi-weekly meetings and worked on recruiting my club members. In addition, I have helped our club shift our focus on environmental issues, leading us to participate in monthly beach clean ups as well as setting up and organizing our involvement with the TREX recycling project with the help of the Millbrae Leos. We have successfully set up three plastic collection locations and we meet weekly to sort through the plastic. We are proud to say we have collected 1700lbs! Overall through my experience in the Bay Area Leo Club, I have learned to take on big responsibilities and lead the whole club.
